I met Yelizaveta through my sister-in-law several years ago. She’s one of the most adventurous, caring, ray of sunshines that I’ve met! I’ve taken pictures for her extended family the last couple of years and have loved being able to keep up with her. When I saw that she was engaged on Facebook I’m pretty sure I used all caps and a million exclamation points from how excited I was! After meeting Paul and seeing how much he adores her, I knew their love, combined with the traditions of their culture and their family would make a truly unique wedding.

Yelizaveta and Paul met, started dating, got engaged, and married all in less than a year. A sad part of being a wedding photographer is that I often book out 1-2 years, meaning that if a friend is getting married and I already have a wedding, I’m not able to be there. I still wanted to be involved in their wedding day and have control over the quality and experience they’d have in regards to their wedding pictures, so I asked my assistant to photograph their wedding. I trust Gabby with my life and I couldn’t imagine anyone doing a better job of capturing the tears and laughs throughout their day. I’ve had some questions about if I plan on continuing to have Gabby photograph weddings and to clarify, this was a one time thing. I’ve walked through parts of life with Yelizaveta since meeting her several years ago, and I wanted to make sure she had an amazing wedding experience. But because this was a unique situation and the fact that my assistant Gabby is getting married and moving away in the next year, we probably won’t do that again.
